Bears Thinking NFL Playoff Schedule with Absent Urlacher |

The Chicago Bears have been in negotiations with two of their defensive powerhouses, Brian Urlacher and Tommie Harris. These are two players that may be their Super Bowl ticket next season. The problem Bear heads are having is that linebacker Urlacher has a 56 million dollar contract with the team up until 2011 but wants that deal to be renegotiated in his favor. That 56 million dollars also does not include bonuses for star performances. He has been pulling Johnson’s move and not showing up to the Bear’s conditioning practices. He wants more money and his team wants to keep him but they need to work out a deal.
The Bears are more than capable of making the NFL playoff schedule but without these defensive threats the probability decreases. It is not like Urlacher can just leave but he can play with less intensity.
Urlacher finished up the 2007 NFL season with 123 tackles, 5 sacks, 5 interceptions and 1 touchdown. There is no doubt he is a major factor to stopping the run. This deal will be worked out. Whether or not he receives an increase in salary is up in the air. He will play and both parties will be happy in the end especially if they make the NFL playoff schedule leading to a Super Bowl ticket.
