For any NFL fans that were hoping to see the Bengals make the NFL playoff schedule next season, I wouldn’t put any money on it. Chad Johnson a few weeks back went live on ESPN to talk about his concerns with the team. He said that he had opted out of some early strength training practices because he was not happy with his contract. Fans and Cincinnati coaches were left with a feeling that Johnson did have issues but they would be able to be resolved through talks. Well I guess those talks didn’t work because Johnson has voiced his continued concern and is now saying that he will not show up to any pre-season practices and wants to be traded immediately.
As a team that may have had hopes of making next season’s NFL playoff schedule how do they cope with this decision. The Bengal’s can forget about the NFL Super Bowl and need to start looking for another passing threat to sign. Johnson has more receptions then all other receivers on the Bengals combined. Where would Johnson fit?
