Ellis Hobbs, who got beaten by Plaxico Burress for the game-winning touchdown in the Super Bowl, played the game hurt, according to a source.

New England Patriots cornerback, Ellis Hobbs is not looking to dodge responsibility for Plaxico Burress' Super Bowl touchdown 35 seconds from the end of the game, but it turns out he was playing with a lot of pain, for a long time in Super Bowl XLII. He sacrificed his body and wasn't even on any of the Patriots' injury reports.

Ellis, 24, had successful shoulder surgery for a torn labrum on February 12. The labrum was torn on the back, the top and a little on the front and there was a piece of bone floating in his shoulder. His recuperation will take 4-5 months, so he should be ready for training camp.  This will mark the second off season that he has spent recuperating from an injury.  Last year it was it was a broken scaphoid bone in his left wrist.

Ellis Hobbs has a huge amount of loyalty to the New England Patriots to play in this injured condition!
